APIT · EPF/ETF · Government salary revision (Circular 10/2025)
Project how a basic salary grows over the coming years with a fixed increment or an annual percentage.
Estimates only — not professional tax, legal or HR advice. Verify with your payroll office.
Increment projection shows how a basic salary grows over the coming years under a fixed increment (Rs X per year) or a percentage increment (Y% per year). It is a planning tool — for budgeting salary reviews, preparing for a negotiation, or estimating where a scale-based salary will land after N annual increments.
A fixed increment adds the same rupee amount every year: Rs 50,000 + Rs 5,000/year reaches Rs 75,000 after 5 years — predictable but shrinking in real terms as prices rise.
A percentage increment compounds: Rs 50,000 + 5%/year reaches about Rs 63,814 after 5 years (the table shows each rounded year). Over a decade the difference between fixed and percentage becomes large, which is why union negotiations usually argue about percentages while budgets are quoted in rupees.
For a salary review, project both modes side by side and compare the total increase. For a government officer, remember that annual increments on a scale are usually fixed steps — the projection tool complements the main Government tab, which knows the actual scale steps for your post.
