📰1 January 2026

Government salaries move to the 65% phase of Circular 10/2025

From 1 January 2026, public servants on the revised 2025 scales are paid 65% of the salary increase above the immediate-pay floor (the first Rs 12,500 of any increase is already paid in full). The remaining balance becomes payable in full from 1 January 2027.

The calculator's Government tab already reflects this phase for every scale and step in the salary database — select January 2026 somewhere in the phase selector, or just leave the default.

📰1 January 2026

National minimum wage rises to Rs 30,000 per month

Under the National Minimum Wage of Workers statutes, the minimum wage for private-sector workers is Rs 30,000 per month or Rs 1,200 per day from 1 January 2026.

Use the Wage board converter to check a daily or monthly rate against the new minimum, and the Employer cost tool to see what a minimum-wage employee costs in total.

📰1 April 2025

New APIT tables and slabs apply from 1 April 2025

The Inland Revenue (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2025 raised the personal relief to Rs 1,800,000 per year (Rs 150,000/month) and introduced the current progressive slabs (6% – 36%) for Y/A 2025/26, which continue into 2026/27.

The calculator applies these tables to regular employment income; bonuses and lump sums are still taxed at the flat rate. See the Tax & deductions guide for the full slab table.
